IT / Systems Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic IT / Systems Administrator (SysAdmin) to join our growing SaaS organization. The SysAdmin, working in conjunction with the Senior Administrator, will be responsible for managing the Windows, Linux and Network infrastructure. This will include the support and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, access points, physical and virtual servers, Citrix Xen Cluster, VOIP phone system, and network attached storage. This role will also provide technical support to staff.

The successful candidate will require an aptitude for working with applications/systems to undertake analysis, diagnosis and resolution of system issues. There is also a range of administration duties within this role including but not limited to the support of our SaaS offering 24/7/365.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide internal IT, hardware and application support, including: troubleshooting outages, retrieving and analyzing logs and performing root cause analysis.
  • Act as on-site point of support and contact for phone calls and emails regarding internal IT issues as well as log and manage issues from internal staff via telephone, email and instant message.
  • Develop and maintain a hardware asset database and track asset distribution.
  • Manage production systems and environments.
  • Aid in the development of new DevOps practices within the enterprise.
  • Deploy automation technologies in development and production environments.
  • Publish internal support documentation to assist staff with requests for information and provide training.
  • Manage accounts, groups, replication, trusts and permissions in Active Directory.
  • Aid in the development of company audit/security policies and the routine review of those policies.
  • Support the enterprise during annual SOC audits.
  • Deploy, manage and audit backup infrastructure.
  • Perform routine audit activities as defined by company policy.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Solid IT technical expertise and acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Incident management experience.
  • Basic Active Directory User and Group administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based systems with emphasis on Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2012 R2/2016 and Office 2013/2016/2019.
  • Experience with and troubleshooting MS Exchange 2010/2013/2016 within an Enterprise environment (permissions, calendar sharing and delegation).
  • Proven to be a self-motivated achiever who gains satisfaction from providing excellent customer service.
  • Some scripting or programming experience in Powershell, Bash or Python is beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of the TCP/IP suite and common member protocols.
  • Understanding of the CI/CD methodology of application testing and deployment.
  • 2+ years Linux/Unix, Networking, Microsoft Server and desktop experience.
  • Post-secondary education in IT program or relevant work experience.
  • Reliability and ability to work independently.
  • Available to work on-call, extended hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Fluent in English.
